Academics with Dev - Post 2: Faculties

Here's my honest candid review

1. FR - Aakash Kandoi sir

FR is huge, too huge
Classes are mix of concepts + written practice + a right amount of fun, as FR gets boring at times and he understand students well - thus he rightly adds pinch of motivation, stories & songs to maintain attention.

After sales: (10/10)
Doubt Support is good - ask direct questions over telegram
For revision - AKs YouTube videos are very good
Additional questions were provided of further attempts.

Question bank is a little scattered, can be better structured, but definitely not a deal breaker

2. AFM

Started classes with Sanjay Saraf sir - have a mixed review
Content - well the best in the industry, he goes beyond formula cramming and the classes are really insightful.
But at one point the classes became a burden to complete because of length of classes and the amount of content.

After sales: (2/10)
Doubt Support is complex - you have to signup on a forum etc.
Revision Videos - Not available (at that time atleast)
Additional Questions - No

Eventually shifted to Ajay Agarwal sir during my first revision - his books are to the point and well structured.

After Sales: (7/10)
Doubt support - best in the industry
Revision Videos - Yes
Additional Questions - not provided

Note: After May 2026 exam, it might be highly risky to go with AA's books now as it misses many concepts which are not yet tested by ICAI.

3. Audit - Shubham Keswani sir

Classes were very good and interactive, books well structured and class tests were cherry on top.
Handwritten notes, charts and memory techniques helps.

After Sales: (10/10)
Doubt Support was good - asking doubts in a private telegram group.
Revision videos really helped.
Additional Questions - Yes

I have made a proper strategy for revisions - will be covering seperately.
It won't be easy to execute but if done well, Audit will be a strength.

4. Direct Tax - Bhanwar Borana sir

Classes were very good, each concept very well explained.
Books were well structured except a few chapters which are slightly over explained (NR, AP, Penalties etc), but if planned well and topics marked correctly as per BB sir, it makes up for it.

After Sales:
Doubt support is complex, needs improvement - there's a separate app for asking doubts from his team, and response time is very high, I received answers for some doubts after exams.
Revision videos and planners shared by sir are amazing.
Amendments and Additional Questions for further attempts - Yes

5. IDT - Akshansh Garg sir

Uncensored classes with lots of fun & relatable examples that makes you remember the concepts of IDT.
That's how you get HW - "Tumhe mummy kasam hai, tumhe ye qn likhke practice karna hai" xd.

Books - for the conceptual chapters it is amazing, specially the charts; for some theory chapters it is really scattered and can be summarised.

Btw, he teaches theory really well with lots of fun examples and memory techniques.

After Sales:
Doubt support - can be better, we've to dm on whatsapp, rare responses
Revision classes - amazing again

6. IBS

Costing - random YT videos
Law - Harsh Gupta, his summary book is very good

Practice as many case studies and mocks, as IBS is more about time management.

1. Stick to your teachers and their notes.
There may be some better notes available in the market, shift only if there's a huge difference.

Because seeing same notes again and again gives better grip.

2. A special mention to Air1institute (by Atul Agarwal sir and Ajay Agarwal sir), I didn't take any proper classes from them, but frankly their doubt support is the best in industry even for non-class students.
Also their Question Banks are well structured, specially for self study.
