How I Scored 600+ Marks in CA Intermediate - My Strategy

CA Finalist Devansh Singla this side 😌.
Scored whopping 619 marks (G1 + G2) in Intermediate.

I am getting many messages relating to the preparation strategy which I followed.
Though I don't have any extraordinary strategy to clear CA exams, if you ask me a "Ram-Baan", then it is:-
1. Hard work.
2. Self-introspection.

In this post, I'll be sharing subject wise strategy, which I followed, and I don't recommend you to follow blindly, firstly self-introspect yourself and then follow a strategy taking guidance from below:-

Accounts and Advanced Accounts - I studied it from CA Nitin Goel sir, and his material covered questions from all the ICAI sources.
In first revision, I audited all the questions and did 2-3 questions per chapter in writing. During exam time, my primary target was to go through every concept once. Whether by marathons or self.

Law - I took classes from CA Amit Popli sir. The way Popli sir teaches....is like you will wait for his class, they are full of funny examples.
His handwritten notes are simple and easy to learn. I used to allot some time daily to learn law and did only a few questions.
You can also check question bank of Shubham Singhal Sir.

Costing - Unfortunately I didn't like the faculty I opted for in Costing. So during first revision I watched marathons and did ICAI SM and Past 10 year RTPs(not recommended to do so). During exam time, I watched CA Rahul Garg Sir's marathon and he provided some exam time questions (4-5 questions per chapter) (Highly recommended to do those)
Most of the students are fearful of Taxation, but for me it was Costing. Fortunately - Rahul Sir's marathon and questions helped me a lot.

Taxation - I took classes from CA Arvind Tuli Sir; his method of teaching is amazing. I was confident in tax.
For Income tax - In first and second revision I revised all the concepts & I did ICAI SM Questions once.
For GST - I revised it twice and did Question Bank of CA Vishal Bhattad Sir.

Audit - Took Classes from CA Kapil Goyal sir, and he successfully defies the myth that Audit is all about cramming. His way of teaching is amazing and I enjoyed every class of his.
I didn't revise Audit along with syllabus completion, and because of that pressure built up later, don't make this mistake🤧. I revised it 3 times before exam and wrote a few questions for practice.

EIS-SM - Took classes from XYz faculty and ended up wasting 50 hours. Then analysing the situation decided to go for Marathon of CA Amit Tated sir along with his books because of time constraints. Revised EIS-SM 4-5 times (Did only 75% of EIS) and thankfully got an exemption.

FM-EFF - Took classes from CA Sunil Keswani Sir, one of the most underrated teachers. His way of teaching is awesome, explaining every concept practically in detail. His material covered questions from all the ICAI sources. I revised it twice, doing all the questions in first revision in writing and only selected ones in second revision.

That's all for today

Signing off
Devansh Singla
